Gather the ingredients for this sweet and simple lemonade
Sometimes, less is more, and that's definitely the case with the ingredients list for this recipe. You'll need simple syrup, lemon juice, cold water, and lemon slices for garnish. "You can get simple syrup at any grocery store or liquor store," Musgrave notes. It's also easy to make simple syrup from scratch.
Combine the simple syrup and lemon juice
First, grab the simple syrup and a pitcher for serving. Add the simple syrup to the pitcher. Next, add the lemon juice, ideally freshly-squeezed. Stir the two liquids to combine.
Add water and ice
Now, you can go ahead and add the cold water and stir again. Then, plop in the ice cubes to chill the lemonade even more and give the ingredients another good stir to combine.
Garnish with lemon slices
The garnish in the recipe serves two purposes — to add flavor and to make the drink look pretty. Just toss the lemon slices into the pitcher and stir again to combine.
This drink is also great to make in advance. "You can make a few hours ahead of time, just stir before serving," Musgrave notes.
Serve and enjoy
To serve, fill individual glasses with more ice and lemon wedges and distribute the lemonade from the pitcher. This beverage is totally refreshing on its own and it's filled with great flavor. "This lemonade is tart and sweet," Musgrave describes. "Each sip is so refreshing!"

- ½ cup simple syrup
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 3 cups cold water
- Lemon slices, for garnish
